LinkedIn InMail Generator
A paid message, one shot, no connection required. Make it count.
InMail is LinkedIn’s paid message type: it reaches someone you are not connected to, and it lands in their normal LinkedIn inbox instead of sitting behind a connection request. It comes with Premium and Sales Navigator accounts, which include a set allowance of InMail credits each month rather than unlimited sending. That scarcity is the whole design problem. You are paying to interrupt a stranger, so this generator writes one subject line and one body under 100 words, plus a shorter variant, built around the single reason you picked this person.
How to write an InMail that earns a reply
- Lead with why this person specifically. An InMail that would work on a thousand people is exactly the one recipients have trained themselves to delete, and they can tell inside the first line which kind they are holding.
- Reference the subject they care about, never the actions you observed. “The two depots you opened” is a topic they can answer; “I noticed you viewed my profile” tells them you were watching and gives them nothing to say back.
- One ask, sized honestly. Twenty minutes, a yes or no, or a pointer to the right colleague: a small named next step is what turns a paid message into a conversation instead of a pitch nobody replied to.
- Skip the feature dump. Your capability list is what the second message is for, and every extra sentence spends credit you paid for on words the reader was never going to reach.
- Write a subject that reads like a colleague’s email. LinkedIn allows up to 200 characters there, but the ones that get opened are short, lowercase and specific to the thing you both already know about.

Who they are and your ask: VP Ops at a 200-person third-party logistics firm. They posted about opening two depots this quarter and hiring planners. My ask: 20 minutes about shift planning across sites.
SUBJECT two depots, one planning rota BODY Hi Marta, Opening two depots in a quarter usually breaks the planning rota before it breaks the hiring plan. That is the part I work on: shift planning across multiple sites, for operations at roughly your size. I am not going to guess what your setup looks like. If the second depot has already made your planner’s week harder, twenty minutes is probably enough to tell whether this is worth a longer conversation. Worth a look? Sam SHORTER VARIANT Hi Marta, congratulations on the second depot. Multi-site planning is what I do, and the quarter after a depot opens is usually when the rota stops working. Twenty minutes to compare notes?
Frequently asked questions
- What is InMail on LinkedIn?
- InMail is LinkedIn’s paid direct message. It lets you write to someone you are not connected to, and it arrives in their LinkedIn inbox rather than waiting behind a connection request. It is included with Premium and Sales Navigator subscriptions, which come with a monthly allowance of InMail credits instead of unlimited messages.
- InMail vs a connection request and message: which is better?
- InMail skips the wait, and that is the whole trade. A connection request costs nothing and takes days, but once someone accepts you are a first-degree contact writing to a contact. An InMail arrives immediately and reads colder, because the recipient knows it was paid for. When you can afford to wait, a warm accepted connection is usually the stronger route.
- How do LinkedIn InMail credits work?
- Your subscription includes a limited number of credits each month rather than unlimited sending, and LinkedIn’s documented policy returns a credit to you when a recipient replies. That is the platform telling you plainly what it wants: fewer, better-aimed messages. Allowances and rollover rules differ by plan, so check your own account rather than assuming.
- How long can a LinkedIn InMail be?
- LinkedIn’s documented limits are up to 200 characters for the subject and up to 1,900 characters for the body. Those are ceilings, not targets. Messages that get answered use a fraction of the space, because a short InMail is obviously written to one person rather than assembled from a template and mailed at everyone.
- Why is this free, and what's the catch?
- No catch and no signup. This tool is funded by EaseClaw, an AI agent that finds warm buyers on LinkedIn, reaches out for you and books the meetings. If the free tool is useful, some people try the free trial. That's the whole business model.
